NEWS: World first for Australian online learning content

Victoria University is the first organisation in Australia to stream a large scale online video learning library.

Now students, academics, staff and alumni can access 250 Australian-made business videos anywhere, anytime, in a lecture theatre, the library, at home, or even on a mobile device. DVD will become a thing of the past as businesses start to stream programs to desktops, laptops and mobile devices.

The content has been developed by multi-award winning Australian producers and psychologists Eve Ash and Peter Quarry, whose films have won more than 140 international awards for creativity and excellence, and are distributed in 40 countries.

Eve Ash, a former national winner of the Westpac Business Owner award in the Telstra Businesswomens Awards, is the CEO of Seven Dimensions, a company now selling electronic licenses to the work that she and Peter Quarry have produced under the Ash-Quarry brand.

Founder of Seven Dimensions, Ash said, We have dreamed of the day our entire menu of programming can be streamed within an organisation. This is the way of the future being able to provide staff, managers or students anywhere in the world with instant access to up-to-date online learning resources.

Victoria Universitys Electronic Information Systems and Services Librarian Jane Miller, said the University is extremely excited to be leading the way with this unique style of delivery. No longer will library staff have to handle DVDs, deal with loss or damage, or manage competing demands and waitlists for limited resources, she said. Weve even been given the right to edit the programs and create our own resources.

Ash, who is known for her early work in producing Australian comedy training films said: This breakthrough approach is unprecedented in this industry and we are thrilled to once again be pioneers in the learning business. Its an online world, where people want to take control. Were giving them that opportunity.

Topics include leadership, communication, motivation, change, service, wellbeing, feedback, telephone skills, job and career skills, dealing with conflict, stress and personal development.
